I built this as a sort of side project to help out a group of my (geographically challenged) friends who had gotten addicted to the game and who were finding it difficult to play over Skype and email.

It also gave me an excuse to learn / play around with the following bits of technology:

• Front end: jQuery and Twitter Bootstrap.
• Back end: MS SQL Server Express, node.js, CoffeeScript, and Express.
• Cloud platform: Amazon Web Services.
